Frequently asked questions

Useful information

This is an outdoor “Camping Experience”, weather and wildlife are beyond the control of The Arrowhead Tipi Resort and it’s staff. All tipis are equipped with sewn in critter-guards and insect netting, they are also climate controlled with air conditioning, dehumidifiers, and heaters. Additionally, the pavilion has outdoor fans and the bath house is climate controlled with central heat and air. Credits or refunds will not be given due to the discomforts of nature or wildlife.

  • Do you accept pets?
Other than our "Varmint Control Officer" aka: Kit Kat the cat we are not allowing pets at this time out of consideration of our other guests. The Arrowhead Tipi Resort "employee" listed above makes every effort to do her job efficiently while staying out of site most times. Be advised there are some stray animals that frequent the premises from time to time and of course the local wildlife but guests are not permitted to bring pets.

  • When is the best time to visit?
We now have air conditioning, dehumidifiers, and heaters in each tipi so anytime is a GREAT time to visit. However, this is camping experience and most activities are outdoors. In this area of Texas our rainy season is from approximately November through May so the best time to enjoy activities outdoors such as fishing, relaxing in a hammock or taking a trip to First Monday Trades Days in Canton is from May through October due to the dry conditions.

  • Do you offer long-term site rental?
We do not offer long term rentals. Although we strive to make the tipi's more of a comfortable, glamping experience we do not recommend them as a permanent home. They are designed for a fun, relaxing, getaway that we are excited to share with guests.

  • Do you offer rental spaces for tent camping?
We do not offer rental spaces for tent camping. This is a unique “glamping” experienced and we strive to maintain a certain level of comfort which tent camping will not allow. In addition, our amenities, and waste management are set up for the max capacity our tipis can accommodate on a regular basis. When we are ready to expand our business to include tent spaces or other accommodations we will be sure to let everyone know.
